There is now a chance that Alberto Malesani will not be in charge of Genoa next season, the club have noted.
It was widely expected that Malesani would take charge of the Rossoblu after keeping Bologna in the top flight last term
However, Marassi chief Enrico Preziosi has today stated that Malesani is one of two options he is assessing.
"Malesani is among the candidates," the President noted. "It is now down to him and one other Coach.
"Both of them are now on holiday so I am currently trying to make a decision.
"I still have two Coaches on the books and I don't want to make a mistake. I'll definitely make an appointment next week.
"Malesani intrigues me and if I had to make a decision today then it would be him, but let's just wait and see."
Whispers suggest that the unnamed tactician, who is also in with an opportunity of getting the job, is Delio Rossi after he left Palermo this week.
