Alberto Aquilani is still waiting for Serie A offers or he'll return to Liverpool. “Nobody has come forward yet.”
The midfielder spent this season on loan at Juventus, but the club declined to take up its option for a permanent buy and, with the arrival of Andrea Pirlo, no longer needs him.
“Antonio Conte is taking time to think things over and Aquilani wants to remain in Italy, so we are seeing what other options there are,” agent Franco Zavaglia told Radio Mana Mana.
“Aquilani is certainly not Pirlo's ideal partner in midfield, as his characteristics just don't suit that role. Either they change system or have to reconsider certain ideas.
“The comforting thing is that in this season Alberto has played 36 games, so question marks over his fitness levels have disappeared. He made an impact at Juve.”
Aquilani has made it clear he wants to remain in Serie A next term despite being owned by Liverpool, so options include Milan or a return to hometown club Roma.
“I think Roma would be very unlikely, as Liverpool spent a tidy sum to take him two years ago and to sell him back to the same side for a different figure would feel like an own goal. He's an important player for Liverpool and they won't give him away.
“As for Milan, it's all media speculation so far. Nobody has come forward yet.”
