Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has cooled reports that David Pizarro could join Napoli this summer.
"That possibility has certainly not come from me," the new Giallorossi transfer guru noted.
"It is true that the player has endured some unhappy moments, but these situations happen and it is only natural that misunderstandings occur.
"Certain dynamics exist in the game that sometimes can't be controlled, but these are normal in the world of football.
"I'll have to firstly speak with every one of our players and then we'll take the necessary decisions."
The Chilean did struggle at times this term and was left out of the side for a period under the management of Claudio Ranieri.
Pizarro, though, once fully fit, returned to the starting line-up after Vincenzo Montella became the Coach.
Pizarro does seem like the kind of player that new Roma boss Luis Enrique would need to help implement his Barcelona-style passing game.
Napoli are looking for a new central midfielder after they qualified for next season's Champions League.
