Former Roma and Valencia striker Francesco Tavano has rejoined Tuscan minnows Empoli.
The 32-year-old forward has signed a two-year deal with the Serie B outfit which includes an option for a third.
Tavano moves to the Azzurri after four years with Livorno.
The Italian made his name at Empoli during his first spell at the club between 2001 and 2006, scoring 19 goals in 37 games during his last campaign with the outfit.
His significant Serie A goal haul alerted bigger sides and he eventually joined Valencia for €10m, but he didn't feature in the plans of Quique Sánchez Flores.
Just six months later he moved to Roma, before joining Livorno where he scored 48 goals in 128 matches.
