Genoa will do all they can to keep Rodrigo Palacio amidst interest from Champions League qualifiers Inter and Napoli.
"He is an extraordinary player who deserves to wear the shirt of a really great club," Genoa sporting director Stefano Capozzucca stated.
"He is the kind of individual who can make a difference on the field of play, but that is the reason why we want to keep him."
The attacker joined the Marassi outfit in 2009 after spending four years in Argentina with Boca Juniors.
Palacio, who has also appeared for Huracan and Banfield, is 29 and has won eight caps at full level for Argentina.
