Roberto Donadoni is delighted to have started his career at Cagliari with a precious victory at the weekend.
The former Italy boss was appointed at Sant'Elia last week following Pier Paolo Bisoli's dismissal.
Cagliari reacted well to his arrival, coming back from behind to win 2-1 away to Brescia.
"We have won an important game," Donadoni told Sky Italia.
"We went behind but we reacted in the right way and came out of the game a better team.
"We expressed our value.
"A week doesn't change anything. We need to keep working.
"I have found a healthy and close-knit group, which has all the characteristics of a young team that must be supported because it doesn't have great experience.
"In the last few days I have tried to give a sense of calm. We were very good at converting our chances in Brescia.
"This was the difference," he concluded.
Cagliari's victory sees them climb to 15th in the table.
The Sardi are back in action on Thursday when they face Bologna in the fourth round of the Coppa Italia.
