Giuseppe Rossi's agent confirms Barcelona made an offer that “was considered insufficient” by Villarreal.
The Italy international is wanted by numerous sides, including Juventus and Inter, but had been most heavily linked with the European Champions.
“We are aware of an offer from Barcelona, but we were also told it was considered insufficient,” agent Federico Pastorello told La Graderia.
“We haven't spoken to anyone for over a week. We know the Blaugrana are negotiating with Villarreal, so all we can do is wait for news from the two clubs.”
Rossi has been valued at a minimum of €30m by his current club.
