Milan will be without Andrea Pirlo for Tuesday's all-important Champions League clash with Auxerre.
The Serie A leaders have a chance to qualify for the next round, although Auxerre are in a rich vein of form.
Pirlo has been suffering from a thigh injury and Massimiliano Allegri has chosen not to include him in Milan's 21-man squad.
The Rossoneri have done well without the deep-lying playmaker so far this season, operating in a 4-3-1-2 with three ostensibly holding midfielders.
Some pundits suggest it could be the end of Pirlo's time as an undisputed regular at Milan.
Incidentally his contract is due to expire in the summer and he has already intimated that he doesn't intend to renew it.
