Roma boss Claudio Ranieri insists his players hold their Champions League destiny in their hands ahead of tomorrow's clash with Bayern Munich.
The Giallorossi lost to their German opponents at the Allianz Arena and need a positive result to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next round alive.
Bayern have already made sure of their place in the knock-out stages, but Ranieri feels that won't determine their approach at the Olimpico.
Speaking at a pre-match Press Conference, Ranieri said: "I don't expect a weaker team, rather one with many champions on the pitch.
"Not finding continuity in the Bundesliga, but in the Champions League is a good and strong signal.
"We will go into the game against Bayern with the intention to win it. We need another four points after the victory over Basel.
"Bayern have great organisation and ball possession with great champions and you have to recognise the hand of Van Gaal in all this.
"He is professional, prepared and determined. It will be a beautiful game."
Ranieri then reflected on his own team and Jeremy Menez in particular.
"Menez has made gigantic steps forward already this year. The important thing is that he understands it. He interacts with it and gets the feeling.
"Now he feels loved by the team and by the fans and this is important for a sensible lad like him.
"Jeremy must be calm. He still has wide margins for improvement. Even he doesn't know how much he can grow."
