Greek newspapers insist Panathinaikos striker Djibril Cissè will sign for Lazio in the next few days.
The negotiations have been carrying on for some time and there were fears the move had collapsed completely.
However, the Greek media today claim director of sport Igli Tare flew out to complete the transfer in a secret meeting in Marseille.
Tare whittled down the financial differences with agent Philippe Piola and a new summit for the former Liverpool star is planned on Monday.
The newspapers suggest Cissè could make his move to Lazio official within the next few days.
With Miroslav Klose already snapped up on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, there is an overflow of hitmen at the Stadio Olimpico.
To cut down the squad, they are expected to hand Sergio Floccari over to Parma.
