Cagliari are confident that they will reach an agreement with Milan in order to keep Davide Astori.
The centre-back's future is in doubt, as both clubs co-own him and both want him at their disposal next term.
If no settlement can be reached over his contract, then there is a risk that his destiny could be decided by a blind auction.
"I'm convinced that we will be able to find an agreement with Milan," Cagliari chief Massimo Cellino noted.
"After all, I only have two friends in football and they are [Milan Vice-President Adriano] Galliani and [owner Silvio] Berlusconi."
Astori is a 24-year-old defender who is also being monitored by Italy boss Cesare Prandelli.
