Eusebio Di Francesco has moved closer to Lecce after he was replaced at Pescara by Zdenek Zeman.
The 64-year-old Czech tactician agreed terms with Pescara late last night after quitting Lega Pro side Foggia recently.
Pescara's decision to appoint the former Lazio and Roma boss may now see Di Francesco move in at the Via Del Mare.
The former Roma player, 41, has been in extensive talks with the Giallorossi for the last week now and he should replace Gigi De Canio.
Di Francesco, who won 12 caps for Italy, started his coaching career at Lanciano in the summer of 2008.
He was sacked in January 2009 and wasn't handed another job until Pescara, who were then in the Third Division, called a year later.
