Federico Marchetti's agent is confident that the Cagliari 'keeper will end up joining capital outfit Lazio.
Cagliari tried to swap Marchetti with Milan's Marco Amelia yesterday, but the latter refused to leave the Rossoneri.
Such a negotiation has subsequently raised doubts about Marchetti's proposed transfer to the Biancocelesti.
"There has been a handshake with Lazio President Claudio Lotito," the Italian's agent Beppe Bozzo told Radio Radio.
"I think that, at the end of the day, the move to Lazio will happen and our position has not changed," he added.
"We have a deal with Lazio and all they have to do is pay the €5.2m rescission clause in his contract before the end of August.
"However, I think that Marchetti's future will be resolved a lot sooner than that."
Lazio are chasing a new custodian given that Fernando Muslera is expected to leave the Stadio Olimpico after failing to agree terms over a new contract.
