Italy boss Cesare Prandelli insists Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has what it takes to become a fine politician.
Buffon has yet to play this season following a surgical procedure on his back after the World Cup in South Africa.
Speaking to Radio 2, Prandelli said: "Among the footballers currently in activity I believe that Buffon has the personality to be a politician."
Buffon wouldn't be the first Italian footballer to begin a career in politics.
Milan legend Gianni Rivera has been relatively active in politics since 1994.
