Former Italy Coach Marcello Lippi wants a team for the 2014 World Cup and blasted “patron football” in the Premier League.
The 2006 World Cup winner has not worked since the dismal first round exit last year in South Africa, although he has been linked with numerous jobs.
“I won't spend another winter at home doing nothing,” he told TG1.
“I will go back to management, preferably for a national team ahead of Brazil 2014.”
However, Lippi had stern words for the Premier League clubs who are splashing the cash on the transfer market.
“There are three ways of doing football: the patrons like Roman Abramovich or the sheiks who spend money without justification.
“Then there are the businessmen who get into the sport and want to make a profit. At the end there are those who invest in youth.”
Lippi also had praise for new Inter Coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
“He's an exceptional lad and a wonderful professional.”
