Federico Marchetti's agent has dismissed the notion that his client has been given a transfer ultimatum by Cagliari.
Reports last night suggested that the Sardinian club had told the 'keeper to find a new side by the time pre-season training starts on July 18 or he'll be forced to remain.
"There is no ultimatum," representative Giuseppe Bozzo told Sportitalia. "He's already agreed to join Lazio.
"There has been a handshake with Lazio President Claudio Lotito and the move will happen well before July 18.
"I think his switch will probably be finalised by July 7 – that's when Lazio will start their preparations for the new campaign."
All Lazio have to do to net the custodian is hand over his €5.2m rescission clause fee which Cagliari placed into his contract this term.
Marchetti hasn't played football since the 2010 World Cup after a falling out with Cagliari President Massimo Cellino.
