British sources suggest Lorik Cana wants a Premier League return, but the player thanked Italian fans, “even if I'm not a Lazio player yet.”
Galatasaray midfielder Cana has been in negotiations with the Biancocelesti for well over a month, but there are delays in completing the deal.
This is due to Nando Muslera reportedly rejecting the personal terms offered by Galatasaray in the exchange.
Skysports.com claim today that Cana, who joined Sunderland in 2009, wants a return to the Premier League after one season in Turkey.
“We are all waiting anxiously,” wrote the midfielder on his Facebook page.
“On Sunday my father met with (Lazio President Claudio) Lotito. It was a positive meeting. We'll see what happens.
“I cannot say anything if it's not official, but I am very happy to be seen as the ‘anti-Francesco Totti' by you Lazio fans.
“I am honoured to have so many Roman (Laziali!) fans, even if I am not a Lazio player yet. I appreciate your praise and respond by noting you have one of the best fanbases in the world.”
