Pippo Inzaghi has gone under the knife for knee surgery that'll keep him out for six months, but his career is not over. “The secret is passion.”
The 37-year-old Milan striker damaged cruciate and meniscus ligaments during the game with Palermo two weeks ago.
The official club website confirmed he underwent surgery in Barcelona today and will be out for five to six months.
“The secret is passion,” he told UEFA.com. “The passion for what I do, the fact I still enjoy myself like a teenager, the fact that there is still a strong desire to play and I feel such affection from those around me all helps me to work better.
“I have the best job in the world. I think that is what youngsters should learn from me. I try to enjoy every moment, all the way.
“Perhaps this is why at the age of 37 I still get to experience emotional nights like the one against Real Madrid.”
The veteran came off the bench to bag a brace in that 2-2 Champions League draw.
