Gaetano D'Agostino will ponder his future over the next seven days after he was told by Udinese to find a new club.
The midfielder returned to the Stadio Friuli outfit last weekend after they beat Fiorentina to his services in a blind auction.
However, D'Agostino has been informed that he can immediately leave the Champions League qualifiers.
"I've decided to spend a week to think about my next move," the Italian international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I'd like to stay in Italy, but I could ponder a move abroad. It would be hard for me to remain with Udinese.
"I'll reflect on a few things in order to find the right solution."
D'Agostino made no secret of his desire to remain in Florence, but the club seemingly had other ideas.
"It still hurts a little that Fiorentina didn't keep me," the former Roma and Messina playmaker noted.
"I am disappointed, especially when I think back to the delicate game against Udinese, where I scored two goals, and boss Sinisa Mihajlovic told me that I was a champion…"
D'Agostino has been linked with a move to Bologna today.
