Wolfsburg defender Andrea Barzagli could return to Italy in the January transfer window, according to his agent Claudio Orlandini.
The 29-year-old's contract is due to expire in June and Wolfsburg don't have many more opportunities to cash in on him unless he pens a new deal.
Juventus have been repeatedly linked with Barzagli in recent weeks, especially in light of the club's injury problems at the back, which prompted the use of young centre-back Frederik Sorensen.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Orlandini said: "If Wolfsburg are upstanding, they should allow Andrea to return to Italy in January and Juve would be a solution that he would like, even if it's not the only option that we are evaluating."
Barzagli was a member of Italy's World Cup winning squad in 2006 and also tasted success in the Bundesliga, which he won in 2009.
