Salvatore Sirigu could open up a can of transfer worms after rejecting Palermo's proposed contract extension.
The Italy goalkeeper's current deal expires in June 2014, but failure to renegotiate an extension could see him put on the market.
According to TMW Sirigu currently earns around €240,000 per season and, although Palermo offered to double those wages, they remain unimpressive for an international.
The proposal would also add another two years to the current contract.
It is widely reported that Sirigu will ask to move on this summer, as there are several clubs tracking the shot-stopper.
Among them are Schalke 04 in Germany, Spain's Atletico Madrid, Roma and Genoa in Serie A.
