Samuel Eto'o is wanted by Manchester City in an exchange with Carlos Tevez, but a meeting with Inter may pave the way for a contract renewal.
The Cameroon international is hot property on the transfer market and Roberto Mancini confirmed he wanted the striker at Eastlands.
City are prepared to offer unsettled Tevez in exchange, but reportedly also willing to pay over €30m in cash.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter President Massimo Moratti met with Eto'o at his office on Friday.
The meeting lasted 30 minutes and appeared to pave the way for a contract renewal rather than a parting of the ways.
The former Barcelona star fits in well with Gian Piero Gasperini's 3-4-3 system, so could add another year to his current deal.
Instead, Wesley Sneijder seems more likely to leave San Siro with €39m offers from Manchester United and Malaga.
Again, this is partly because the Dutch playmaker would have to change position under new Coach Gasperini.
