Gianluca Comotto has joined former Fiorentina teammate Adrian Mutu at Cesena. “I didn't think twice.”
The Sea Horses have been reinforcing their squad over the summer, including two big names from the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
“When I was presented with the opportunity to come to Cesena, I didn't think twice,” Comotto told firenzeviola.it.
“They have a really important project in place.”
However, the veteran defender admits he did not leave the Viola in the best circumstances.
“We never actually talked about a contract renewal. I guess the decision not to renew was symbiotic, as our viewpoints were just too different.
“I believed, and still do believe, that I can give a lot more in my career. Fiorentina wanted to keep me as part of the squad, but without the guarantee I'd play any genuine role.
“We were aware of this difference in viewpoints and parted company after three splendid years.”
