Andrea Pirlo has thanked Juventus fans for their warm welcome. “Right from my first day I saw how much enthusiasm there is around us.”
The veteran midfielder ended a 10-year stay at Milan to cross over to the Turin giants this summer on a free transfer.
“Right from my first day at pre-season training in Bardonecchia, I immediately saw how much enthusiasm there is around us,” he told the official club website.
“This is why I want to thank you all for the affection you are showing to the team and to me.
“It has been a wonderful start, now it's up to us players to respond with our performances on the pitch.”
Pirlo is only 10 years younger than Juventus Coach Antonio Conte, so their careers did overlap.
“The Coach was a champion on the field and a real winner. He has proved he's got the same approach in management.
“From the first day of pre-season training he has been drilling his mentality into us. Juventus were always the team to beat, but now I am here to win with this glorious shirt.”
