Stefano Pioli makes tests Palermo against Al-Ain today and looks ahead to the Europa League qualifier later this month.
“This will be another step in our journey towards the start of the season and we'll be facing a side of higher quality than we've played so far,” said the Coach.
“This friendly with the United Arab Emirates side will allow us to understand which aspects still have to be improved and worked on.
“I expect further progress from the whole squad. My lads can't wait to prove their worth.”
The Rosanero need to get into gear quicker than most Serie A teams, as they play the Europa League preliminary round on July 28.
Their opponents will be either Albanians Vllaznia or Swiss outfit Thun with the second leg at the Stadio Barbera on August 4.
“Regardless of who we will play, we're still facing a side that is at a more advanced stage of their season,” continued Pioli.
“But we have the technical quality to do well and are confident ahead of this two-legged encounter.”
