Javier Zanetti has no doubt that Inter are innocent of Calciopoli accusations. “I know Massimo Moratti and Giacinto Facchetti. That's enough.”
The Nerazzurri will learn on Monday whether the 2006 Scudetto will be revoked due to new evidence in the scandal.
The report from prosecutor Stefano Palazzi states Inter and specifically former President Facchetti tried to influence referees, but the FIGC probably won't be able to act because the statute of limitations has expired.
“I know Moratti and had the good fortune to know Facchetti. That's enough,” said Zanetti when asked about these allegations.
“The matter is close to the end now and it's incredible that five years later we are still talking about it.
“How much is the 2006 title worth? As much as the others. I am proud to be an Inter player.”
The 2006 Scudetto was stripped from Juventus and handed to Inter as the next team down the standings without a points penalty.
