Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez is feeling the pressure as he prepares to complete his €37m transfer on Monday. “I’m not Barcelona’s Cristiano Ronaldo.”
It has been one of the soap operas of the summer, but El Nino Maravilla will finally be presented at the Nou Camp tomorrow.
“Will I be Barcelona’s Cristiano Ronaldo? No, I just want to be Alexis Sanchez,” he said of a supposed rivalry with the Real Madrid star.
“I am proud to have joined the best club in the world. Now I want to prove my worth at the very top level.
“I’m particularly excited to be playing alongside Leo Messi, who is the best player in the world. First of all I must adapt to the squad.”
Sanchez will become the first Chile international to represent the Blaugrana in their history.
“I never thought a Chilean could wear the Barça jersey, let alone that it would be me. Now I want to win everything.”
