Roma midfielder Fabio Simplicio insists he is looking forward to facing off against his former club Palermo this weekend.
The 31-year-old Brazilian spent four years in Sicily before moving to Roma on a free transfer this summer.
Interviewed on Sky Italia, he said: "It will be emotional to return to Palermo and to meet the friends and people who supported me until the end of my time there.
"There are many beautiful things that I remember, but the most beautiful was the friendship with the people who have nothing to do with football.
"It was a great satisfaction for me to have had great people around me."
Asked about the acrimonious nature of his departure, Simplicio said: "There are no longer problems between Zamparini and I.
"I said that I would honour my contract until it expired and I did.
"Zamparini told me that if an important team came in for me he would let me go."
