Palermo haven’t shown an interest in Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro, the player’s agent has insisted.
Whispers have paired the two together given that Cannavaro’s contract at the San Paolo is set to expire in the summer.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone from Palermo, these are just newspaper rumours,” Gaetano Fedele noted.
“There has been no contact with the Rosanero.
“Paolo’s contract is expiring and we are looking to reach an agreement with Napoli for a renewal, hopefully before the end of this month.
“Then if no agreement is reached it is only normal to have a look around.”
Fedele, though, did leave the door open to an eventual move to the Sicilian giants at the end of the season or even abroad.
“Palermo are a club who are taking some giant strides,” he continued.
“The priority is a renewal with Napoli, but then we would consider other destinations, even one outside of Italy…”
