Adriano Galliani doesn't believe Manchester City will sell Mario Balotelli, but if they do, he insists Milan will be poised to sign him.
It's no secret that Balotelli is a big Milan supporter. He has also expressed his desire to be reunited with former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Balotelli was seen at the same restaurant as Galliani after the Derby della Madonnina fuelling speculation about Milan's intentions.
"I don't believe that Manchester will sell him," Galliani said.
"Mario has signed for five years, but if they were to sell him we would be there."
Asked about Milan's needs in the January transfer window, Galliani said: "If there is a chance, a striker will arrive. We are covered in all the other positions.
"If possible we'll find a striker to replace Pippo Inzaghi. Otherwise we'll stay as we are.
"Whoever arrives must be similar to Inzaghi also in terms of characteristics because we need a player like this."
