Serie A Week 20 - 17/1/10 (14.00 UK)
Atalanta 3-0 Lazio
Doni 5, 9 (A), Padoin 35 (A)
Stadio Azzurri d'Italia

Cristiano Doni scored twice to give Bortolo Mutti the perfect Atalanta debut, but it was a disaster for Lazio.

Mutti became the fourth Coach to sit on the Orobici bench this season after Angelo Gregucci was fired, Antonio Conte resigned and caretaker manager Valter Bonacino oversaw last week's 1-0 defeat at Palermo. Lazio were boosted by a midweek Coppa Italia victory that sent them into the quarter-finals and Sergio Floccari - an ex-Atalanta hitman - was on stunning form since his January move from Genoa.

Francelino Matuzalem and Pasquale Foggia were sidelined for the visitors, while Aleksandar Kolarov was suspended and Mourad Meghni at the Africa Cup of Nations. Edgar Barreto, Tomas Manfredini and the banned Gyorgy Garics missed out for Atalanta.

The Mutti era got off to a great start, as after five minutes Tiberio Guarente's free kick into the middle found Cristiano Doni for a totally free glancing header from six yards.

Doni was fired up and doubled his tally moments later. More dismal defending helped, as Simone Padoin chipped the ball up for the captain's fierce volley.

When Lazio did come out of their shell, they left space at the back for a counter that Simone Tiribocchi wasted by hesitating.

Atalanta were simply dominant in Bergamo and Doni held up the ball for Simone Padoin's splendid curler from just inside the box to the far top corner.

Lazio were a shambles and Davide Ballardini introduced Ousmane Dabo for Fabio Firmani, who had taken a nasty knock to the head. After the restart Stefano Mauri also replaced Simone Del Nero.

More bad news for Lazio, as Floccari limped off clutching the back of his right thigh. Lichtsteiner was fortunate the referee did not spot his stamp on Peluso.

Only Nando Muslera's smart goalkeeping prevented Giampaolo Bellini from making it 4-0 late on, as the Atalanta man sprung the offside trap to go clear on goal.
