Serie A Week 11 - 1/11/09 (14.00 UK)
Roma 2 - 1 Bologna
Adailton 32 (B), Vucinic 35 (R), Perrotta 50 (R)
Stadio Olimpico

Roma recovered from an early scare with Mirko Vucinic and Simone Perrotta earning a crucial victory.

It was crisis time for the Lupi, who saw fans throw homemade bombs at the training camp after three consecutive Serie A defeats. To make matters worse, Daniele De Rossi, Marco Cassetti and Rodrigo Taddei were suspended with Francesco Totti and Nicolas Burdisso injured. Bologna won their first game under Franco Colomba midweek, though were without Mutarelli, Bombardini and the banned Guana.

The referee changed at the last minute, as Matteo Trefoloni pulled out with a back injury, making way for fourth official Leonardo Baracani.

Francesco Valiani's counter was straight at the goalkeeper, while a Mirko Vucinic blockbuster stung the palms of Emiliano Viviano. Jeremy Menez ballooned over after good work from Simone Perrotta.

Viviano used his legs to parry a John Arne Riise rocket free kick off the line.

However, Bologna took a shock lead at the Olimpico! David Pizarro was dispossessed in midfield by Mingazzini, who sparked the counter as Marco Di Vaio rolled across for a simple Martins Adailton tap-in.

Vucinic equalised to end his goal drought. Riise's cross bounced on to Perrotta's arm, but the ball ricocheted around until Vucinic got the final shot from nine yards. Bologna complained about the handling offence, but it was clearly involuntary.

Marco Motta made some in the stands believe he had scored, as the daisy-cutter scraped a coat of paint off the upright.

Di Vaio was booked for simulation after falling under pressure from Alexander Doni, while Juan nodded a corner over from a promising position. Juan picked up an injury and was replaced by Marco Andreolli at half-time.

A weak Vucinic chip was easy prey for Viviano, but Roma did take the lead. A Jeremy Menez solo effort was only parried into the path of Perrotta to tap in from six yards.

Vucinic got a looping header to Pizarro's cross from the right, calling Viviano into a fingertip save. Matteo Brighi's counter was turned out for a corner and Cicinho failed to make the most of a Vucinic backheel assist.
