Serie A Week 22 - 31/1/10 (14.00 UK)
Roma 2-1 Siena
Riise 29 (R), Vergassola 41 (S), Okaka 88 (R)
Stadio Olimpico

A stunning Stefano Okaka backheel flick in the final minutes marked his farewell to the Olimpico, as he'll join Fulham from Monday.

The Giallorossi were on sparkling form after three consecutive wins contributed to their ascent into third place. On the other hand, Siena were propping up the table and in dire straits. Roma faced an injury crisis with Francesco Totti, Luca Toni, Jeremy Menez and Mirko Vucinic all sidelined. Not to be outdone, Robur had Brandao and Emilson Sanchez Cribari sitting out bans.

Siena somehow avoided conceding with three consecutive goalline clearances in the same move. First Gianluca Curci - a Roma youth product - denied Marco Motta's half-volley, then Curci and Marco Malago' kept out Juan's follow-ups from point-blank range.

John Arne Riise flashed a brilliant volley across the face of goal and inches wide of the far post.

Motta was again dangerous when he dribbled past two defenders down the right channel and blasted at Curci at the near post.

Riise has been on fine form this season and scored another splendid goal. The looping cross was nodded on to the far outside corner of the box, where Riise smashed a low left-foot volley across a helpless Curci.

Siena earned a surprise equaliser before half-time. A corner was cleared to the D where Julio Sergio flew to parry a Jajalo screamer, but could do nothing on Simone Vergassola's follow-up.

Daniele De Rossi and Julio Baptista missed the target, while De Rossi also tested the goalkeeper. Stefano Okaka came on for the last time this season, as the teenager will complete his loan move to Fulham on Monday.

A corner was spread to the edge of the penalty area, where Rodrigo Taddei's swerver forced Curci to flap it out from under the bar.

Curci fingertipped Nicolas Andre Burdisso's header over from a David Pizarro corner kick.

Riise defleced a strike so it rose towards the top corner, forcing Julio Sergio into a difficult save.

Okaka certainly waved goodbye to the Olimpico in style with a spectacular goal. With 120 seconds left on the clock, he flicked a Pit cross with his heel to beat Curci from seven yards. He had his back to goal and dummied a spin, but instead whipped the heel finish.
