Serie A trio on Cavani red alert?

Napoli, Juventus and Inter are all reportedly ready to launch a transfer tug-of-war for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani in January.

According to the Daily Mail, the trio are in the race for Cavani, who was involved in a penalty disagreement with Neymar over the weekend.

The Uruguayan insisted he take the spot-kick, which he went on to miss, while a later situation saw Dani Alves seemingly refuse to give him the ball, instead handing it over to his former Barcelona teammate.

Elseid Hysaj “will see what to do in June” if Napoli don’t win the Scudetto, said his agent. “He’d play at Juventus, Real Madrid or PSG.”

The Albania international has been linked to numerous Italian and international clubs over the last few months.

“He is a champion and could make an important role for himself even at Juventus, Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, not just at Napoli,” agent Mario Giuffredi told TMW Radio.

Inter target Rabiot deal?

Inter are reportedly targeting a future deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

According to Calciomercato.com, it comes after Inter director Walter Sabatini tried to sign Rabiot for Roma three years ago.

However, on that occasion, Sabatini would have failed to convince then-Coach Rudi Garcia into building his Giallorossi side around the 22-year-old.

Rabiot consequently extended his contract with PSG until 2019, but the website claims the Italian has reignited his interest in the player.

Italy misusing Verratti

Much more is expected of Marco Verratti in an Italy jersey, but Richard Hall points out Giampiero Ventura isn't making it easy.

Marco Verratti, along with his compatriots, were taught a footballing lesson in the Santiago Bernabeu. The 3-0 scoreline left Italy facing the play-offs and a certain amount of criticism, the Azzurri’s PSG-based midfielder included. But did Verratti ever stand a chance after Giampiero Ventura left him so isolated in midfield?

Counter-intuitive Italy

Every single gamble Giampiero Ventura took back-fired at the Bernabeu, but Susy Campanale hopes Italy can at least learn from it.

Not a single thing worked for Italy at the Bernabeu, as gamble after gamble back-fired spectacularly on Giampiero Ventura. What is perhaps even more worrying than the 3-0 defeat and upcoming World Cup play-off is that the CT doesn’t seem to have learned any lessons from the present or past, so is doomed to repeat these mistakes in future as well. Everything the Azzurri did ran counter to received wisdom.
