Del Piero to leave Sydney FC

Alessandro Del Piero has confirmed that he will leave Sydney FC, but has failed to reveal where his next destination will be.

The 39-year-old has been in Australia for the past two years after a 19-year spell at Juventus.

But this morning, in a statement on his official website, the striker admitted that he will leave the A-League club this summer.

Del Piero to DC United?

There are reports Inter President Erick Thohir wants to sign Alessandro Del Piero for his MLS club DC United.

The ex-Juventus legend is considering his future at Sydney FC and said he’s determined to play on for at least another year.

Meanwhile, Australian media claim Sydney have only offered Del Piero a contract extension if he joins the club staff or even becomes the new Coach.

Del Piero's Sydney to train in Italy

Alessandro Del Piero and Sydney FC will be in Italy for three weeks of pre-season training in August.

The A-League club has secured a spot in Jesolo, near Venice, from August 2 to 22.

Italian clubs mainly train in the mountains during the summer because of the high temperatures, but an Australian side will feel at home on the beach.

Del Piero not enough for Sydney

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero scored twice, but it wasn’t enough for Sydney FC to avoid defeat to Brisbane Roar on Friday.

The Italian, who joined the club in the summer once his contract in Turin had expired, netted two beauties – but his side’s struggles continue.

Sydney FC were eventually beaten 4-2 which leaves them second from bottom in the A-League after seven games.

Del Piero heading off to Sydney

Alessandro Del Piero will land in Australia this weekend after agreeing to continue his career with Sydney FC.

The Juventus idol has signed a two-year contract with the A-League side after his deal in Turin expired at the end of last season.
