Iachini: ‘Udinese deserved more’

Beppe Iachini believes Udinese deserved more than what they got against Chievo, but admits his side made mistakes.

The Bianconeri took the lead in Sunday’s early Serie A kick-off but late strikes by Lucas Castro and Fabrizio Cacciatore completed a comeback victory for the Gialloblu.

“We made mistakes for the goals,” Iachini commented post-match.

“We paid for our mistakes, we should have done better when we were in possession of the ball.

Iachini: ‘Rigid Chievo will be tough’

Udinese Coach Beppe Iachini anticipates a tough encounter when his team face Chievo on Sunday.

The Bianconeri have made a good start to the new Serie A campaign, including beating Milan 1-0 at San Siro last weekend. They have six points after three games, while their opponents have four.

“Chievo are a tough team, they are rigid,” Iachini commented to Radio Deejay. They don’t let you play, it is dangerous.”

Iachini pleased with Udinese

Beppe Iachini is pleased with his Udinese players as they near the conclusion of their pre-season preparations.

The Bianconeri played out a goalless draw in a friendly match against Premier League outfit Middlesbrough yesterday, with the tactician reserving particular praise for his defence.

“We played against a team who start the League next week,” Iachini commented. “I am satisfied because it was a proper match.

Sarri: ‘Palermo are dangerous’

Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri warns Palermo are “dangerous”, and plays down Scudetto talk.

The Partenopei have won five of their last six Serie A games, and welcome the Sicilian side to San Paolo tomorrow.

“It will be a difficult game,” Sarri predicted in his pre-match Press conference.

“They’re a team who have re-discovered themselves since the international break. They’re coming off two very good results, with good performances, and there’s the unknown of a midweek game.

Zamp: 'Palermo are worst in Serie A'

President Maurizio Zamparini admits Palermo are 'the worst team in Serie A', but confirms 'faith in Coach Giuseppe Iachini'.

The Rosanero have lost four games in a row now, and conceded four goals against Roma only yesterday.

Zamparini, in an interview with Il Giornale di Sicilia, did not try to colour the situation in his favour.

“At this moment we are the worst team in the Serie A championship,” he said. “I'm more worried now than I was a few days ago.

Iachini: 'Palermo will return'

Beppe Iachini remains confident Palermo will get back on track after a fourth consecutive defeat to Roma.

The Sicilians were 3-0 down, but fought back for 3-2 until eventually capitulating 4-2.

“We continue to work, knowing that some of our players still need to reach their peak form,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“Today we had three opportunities to equalise and were unable to finish them, although we faced a squad with so much quality.

Zamp: ‘Palermo not in crisis’

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini insists “we’re in difficulty, we’re not in crisis”.

The Rosanero have taken seven points from their first six games, leading to speculation the famously trigger-happy President could fire Coach Beppe Iachini.

“I’ve spoken with Iachini and the staff,” Zamparini told media at a Press conference.

“We’re in difficulty, but we’re not in crisis. I want us to get nasty. We’ve become a bit soft lately, maybe we let go a bit after the first two wins.

Iachini: 'I am not at risk'

Beppe Iachini does not feel his position at Palermo is at risk despite a 2-1 defeat to nine-man Torino.

“The team played well and we had our chances. Unfortunately, we conceded on an own goal from Giancarlo Gonzalez and that world class strike from Marco Benassi,” Iachini told Rai Sport.

“We were unable to get the 2-2 and were unlucky hitting the woodwork right at the end. It’s a pity about the result, but the performance was there.
