ALS claims ex-Foggia star List

Paolo List, fan favourite in Zdenek Zeman’s Foggia side, has died at the age of 52 due to ALS complications.

The right-back featured heavily in the legendary squad that earned promotion to Serie A under the tutelage of Zeman from 1988 to 1991.

The official Foggia website confirmed his passing, as he had been suffering from ALS – Amyotrophobic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gherig’s Disease.

Zeman: 'Roma too inconsistent'

Zdenek Zeman doesn’t believe Roma can win the Scudetto yet. “Their problem has always been consistency.”

The Giallorossi are feeling confident after seven points from the opening three rounds, plus an impressive 1-1 Champions League draw with Barcelona.

“Roma already had an excellent squad, but their problem has always been consistency,” Lugano Coach Zeman told Sportitalia.

“If they are finally able to find the right consistency, then the Giallorossi can challenge for the Scudetto.

Milan reshuffle Lugano loan

Andrej Modic was denied a work permit, so Milan could send Alessandro Mastalli to Zdenek Zeman’s Lugano instead.

The deal had been done for Rossoneri youth team player and Bosnia Under-19 international Modic to join Lugano on loan for this season.

However, he was sent back to base after failing to secure a work permit.

Now Sky Sport Italia claim the clubs are working out the details to send fellow midfielder Mastalli in his place.

Unlike Modic, Mastalli does have one Serie A appearance under his belt.

Giulini: ‘Nainggolan to Roma logical’

Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini says Radja Nainggolan’s move to Roma was ‘logical’, and ‘he’ll end his career at Cagliari’.

The Belgian midfielder had previously been co-owned by the Isolani and the Giallorossi, a situation which was only resolved on Wednesday.

“Nainggolan to Roma was the most logical ending,” Giulini told Corriere dello Sport.

“He wanted the Giallorossi, and it’s only right that Roma kept him, because he’s an amazing player who is very attached to that shirt.

A statement confirmed Zeman met with Lugano President Angelo Renzetti in Rome.

They discussed a one-year contract worth €400,000 and the presentation is expected in Switzerland on Wednesday.

'Cagliari, I want to stay'

Gianluca Festa says he'd like to keep coaching Cagliari into next season, whilst discussing the game with Cesena.

The 46-year old picked up the team on April 21 after the resignation of Zdenek Zeman, but by then it was too late and the team walk into today's game with no hopes of escaping relegation.

“I wanted to call up the players who were in the best condition, and I'll try fielding the best possible XI,” he said. “These are important games for everyone, myself included.

Rossettini: 'Zeman to blame'

Giulini: 'No Zeman regrets'

Cagliari are on the verge of relegation, but President Tommaso Giulini would “choose Zdenek Zeman again a thousand times.”

The Sardinians will go down if Atalanta pick up a point against Genoa, regardless of what result Cagliari get with Palermo.

“I would choose Zeman or Gianfranco Zola again a thousand times,” Giulini told Radiolina.

“However, now I will begin again with a more conservative choice. I hear many names suggested, but I can assure you we haven’t contacted anybody yet.
