Asamoah ‘looking forward’ to Gala

Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah admits he is “looking forward” to becoming a Galatasaray player after affirming “I won’t go back on giving them my word.”

Asamoah saw a proposed transfer to Gala break down towards the end of the summer, but the defender-midfielder is out of contract next year, and he suggested a move to Cimbom was still on the cards.

“We agreed on everything over the summer,” he is quoted by TuttoJuve as telling the Turkish Press.

‘Galatasaray won’t sign Asamoah’

Galatasaray’s sporting director admits “we can’t sign Kwadwo Asamoah in January”, despite summer interest in the Juventus man.

The Ghanaian is out of contract at the end of the season, and the Turkish side tried to sign him in the summer.

However, there are new restrictions in the Super Lig governing foreign players and Gala have already exceeded their quota.

“We can’t take Asamoah in January, because of the new rule that limits foreign transfers in Turkey,” Cenk Ergun is quoted as saying by Haberturk.

‘Galatasaray will return for Asamoah’

Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek says the Turkish club will make a new offer for Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah.

The midfielder, who can also play at left wing-back, was believed to be close to joining the Istanbul giants this summer, but ultimately remained in Turin.

However, the Ghanaian international is out of contract at the end of the season, and he could still move to the Super Lig in January.

“In the end Juventus didn’t want to let him go,” Uzbek told Fanatik.

Galatasaray 'will try again for Asamoah'

Galatasaray “will try again in January” for Juventus full-back Kwadwo Asamoah, confirmed President Dursun Ozbek.

“We tried to the last moment, but at the end Juve preferred to keep the player,” said Ozbek in today’s Press conference.

“We did our best, but will try again in January.”

The 28-year-old Ghana international had been eager to complete the transfer this summer, as stated by his agent, but the deal never went through.

Marotta: 'No more Juventus buys'

Beppe Marotta said Juventus won’t make any major buys after Benedikt Howedes, reassured Leonardo Spinazzola and said Lazio were “lucky” to get €35m for Keita Balde Diao.

“Sami Khedira has a small problem with his knee, but will certainly be available very soon,” the director general told Sky Sport Italia.

Agent: 'Asamoah wants Galatasaray'

Kwadwo Asamoah “wants to join Galatasaray, but Juventus can’t find a replacement,” confirmed his agent.

It has long been reported that the clubs and player agreed basic terms, but the Bianconeri wouldn’t sell until they had brought in his heir.

That was supposed to be Leonardo Spinazzola, who is technically still owned by Juve, but Atalanta are refusing to interrupt the two-year loan deal early.

“He wants to join Galatasaray, but Juve can’t find a replacement,” agent Federico Pastorello told Sportitalia.

Sky: Howedes to Juventus done

Benedikt Howedes is expected in Italy tomorrow afternoon for a medical with Juventus, as the deal with Schalke 04 is done, claim Sky Sport italia.

It will be a loan for €3.5m with option to buy for another €8.5m, but this is not an obligation.

Sky Sport Deutschland imply the option is worth €11.5m, so bonuses could well be included.

Reports suggest Juventus have a deal for Schalke 04 defender Benedikt Howedes, a €3.5m loan with option to buy for €11.5m.

The German international has been moving closer to a move to Turin over the past few days, but negotiations with his club proved tough.

However, tonight Sky Italia is reporting that a deal has been agreed for a season-long loan worth €3.5m, with an option to buy set at €11.5m.

The deal is expected to be concluded tomorrow, with Howedes taking his medicals on Wednesday.

Galatasaray make new Asamoah bid

Galatasaray have reportedly raised their bid for Juventus wing-back Kwadwo Asamoah to €10m.

The Ghanian international was left out of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for the weekend win over Genoa, suggesting that a move to Turkey was close.

It’s believed the Bianconeri are very close to signing Benedikt Howedes of Schalke 04, and Corriere dello Sport believes the German’s arrival is key to any deal for Asamoah.

Howedes is capable of playing both at left-back and in the centre, so would provide depth in two positions.

Laxalt catches Juve's eye

Diego Laxalt impressed Juventus in Genoa’s 4-2 defeat, perhaps enough to earn him a transfer to Turin rather than Leonardo Spinazzola.

The 24-year-old Uruguay international surged up the left flank repeatedly during yesterday’s Marassi thriller.

According to Sportitalia, he caught the eye of Bianconeri directors and Coach Max Allegri.

Juve made no secret of the fact they were trying to bring back Italy international Spinazzola early from his two-season loan with Atalanta.
