Allegri: ‘Szczesny plays tomorrow’

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri confirms Wojciech Szczesny will play in goal against Fiorentina tomorrow.

The Bianconeri welcome the Viola to Turin tomorrow evening, as they look to maintain their perfect start to the Serie A season.

“We’re only at the start,” Allegri cautioned in his pre-match Press conference.

“We’re on the fifth game and usually the table starts to take shape after the 10th, so for now I’d say we’re all travelling calmly together.

‘Inter, Napoli, Juventus for Scudetto’

Ivan Cordoba believes “Juventus, Napoli and Inter have something more than the others", but feels the Nerazzurri squad could improve.

All three sides have won their opening four games of the season, the first time three sides have maintained perfect records for the first four rounds since 1960.

Cordoba spent 13 seasons with the Beneamata, winning the Treble in 2010, and he spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport about Luciano Spalletti’s side.

“If you wear the Nerazzurro shirt, you can’t make calculations,” the Colombian said.

The Portuguese joined the Aquile on deadline day last month but arrived from Valencia with a knee injury.

“We showed our strength,” he told the Partenopei’s official website.

“After our defeat to Shakhtar, we had to bounce back with a win and we did.”

Too much, too little

The Serie A quality gap is growing fast and it’s not going to help anybody to stay on this path, writes Susy Campanale.

Benevento Coach Marco Baroni said it all after a 6-0 defeat at the Stadio San Paolo: “There was simply too much Napoli for us to deal with.” Maurizio Sarri’s men are a handful for most opponents, but this weekend saw the line blurred between minnows and cannon fodder. It’s the first time since 1960-61 that three teams have a perfect record after four rounds in Serie A. This is not a positive statistic.

Inzaghi: 'Immobile an honour'

Simone Inzaghi said it is “an honour” to work with Ciro Immobile, but Lazio have to be more clinical after a 3-2 victory at Genoa.

“We had a pretty first half, but I warned my team at the break that they weren’t turning that possession into goals and in fact we left it open for them to equalise. We should’ve been at least 2-0 up, we had 18 shots to three,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

Zapata delight with debut goal

Sampdoria’s Duvan Zapata is happy to be at the club after making an instant impact against Torino.

The former Napoli forward scored just 20 seconds into his Blucerchiati debut as they held the Granata to a 2-2 Serie A draw.

“I am happy with the goal. We did well to make the most of that chance,” Zapata told reporters.

“We know that we have quality further back as well. We need to know how to take advantage of it for the benefit of the team.

Sarri: 'Mertens among world's best'

Maurizio Sarri set the Napoli ambitions after a 6-0 win over Benevento and called Dries Mertens “one of the best strikers in the world.”

The Belgian bagged a hat-trick in the Derby di Campania thrashing at the Stadio San Paolo.

“Clearly we asked the lads for a very different approach to the one seen in Ukraine,” Sarri told Mediaset Premium just days after a 2-1 Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk.
