Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo has confirmed that “my signature is safe” regarding a new contract with the club.
Giampaolo has long been considered the favourite to replace Paulo Sousa at Fiorentina, but the Coach insists his future lies with Samp as talks over a renewal have entered “the final act”.
“For the renewal of my contract, my signature is missing, which is always the most important thing,” he told Premium Sport.

“Jokes aside, however, [talks] are well under way and all that’s left is the final act. We can say that my signature is safe.
“Victory at San Siro on Monday? We can only guarantee maximum commitment.
“Inter? We know they’re a very strong team and Pioli has taken a very respectable path. All this will be nothing but a stimulus for us.
“Every game is different so, beyond our first meeting, I don’t know how to beat Inter. Certainly, though, that [the 1-0 win] was a great satisfaction.”
