The Bianconeri have one foot in the Champions League semi-final after last night’s first leg success and the return match is on Wednesday April 19.

“When you play against opponents like this, the only choice is to prepare it in the best possible way, otherwise you’re not going to win,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.

“Coach Allegri studied the match so well and gave us the right indications. As for us, we did well to interpret it with humility, hard work and the gall of someone who wanted to say ‘we’re here too’ on the way to a great future.

“Compared to the other sides, Juve need to work harder to achieve this success, but perhaps because of that you feel even more satisfied when it happens.”

Allegri transformed the squad with his 4-2-3-1 formation after a defeat to Fiorentina and Buffon sees that as the turning point.

“I don’t think this Juve side resembles any of the others I have played for, in terms of personnel or tactics. This team is the fruit of Allegri’s prodigious intuition, as he completely redesigned it.”
