The season is over for Chievo striker Riccardo Meggiorini, who has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The forward was stretchered off during Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Cagliari.
Today tests confirmed he had ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Meggiorini will go under the knife tomorrow morning and is expected to be out of action for approximately six months.
The 31-year-old had scored four goals with one assist in 29 competitive games for Chievo this season.
