Genoa have officially released Mauricio Pinilla from his contract, freeing the striker for a return to Chile.
Reports earlier on Thursday emerged how Pinilla was in talks to rescind his Genoa contract, and the club have since confirmed a ”mutual termination” on their official website.
“The club thank the player and wish him the best of luck for his future endeavours,” added the Grifone in a statement.
The 33-year-old, who also played for the likes of Inter, Palermo, Cagliari and Atalanta in Italy, now appears set to re-join his first professional team, Universidad de Chile.
