Man Utd revive Perisic bid?

Just after Inter Coach Luciano Spalletti said Ivan Perisic was “determined to stay,” it’s reported Manchester United will meet his €55m (£48m) asking price.

The Croatia international has taken part in most of the pre-season friendlies, including last night’s 1-0 win over Real Betis.

“Perisic is determined to remain. He spoke like a player who wants to do well and be professional,” Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia.

However, today’s edition of the Mirror on Sunday insists negotiations have resumed between the two clubs and could well reach a positive conclusion.

Inter have always been clear that the asking price is €55m and refused to drop below that sum.

Jose Mourinho publicly complained on Friday that only 75 per cent of his transfer targets had arrived at Old Trafford this summer.

The window shuts on August 31 and, if the Nerazzurri were to sell Perisic, they would first need to be sure that a replacement was lined up.

“I won’t let a quality player leave without a quality replacement,” added Spalletti this weekend.

Perisic was signed from Wolfsburg in 2015 for €19m and is under contract until June 2020.

The left-sided winger scored 11 goals with 11 assists in 36 Serie A appearances last season.

There have also been some reports suggesting Perisic is a target for Barcelona if they fail to tempt Liverpool into selling Philippe Coutinho.

He has 16 goals in 56 caps for Croatia at senior level and in his club career has so far played in Croatia, France, Belgium, Germany and Italy.

It’s reported that Mourinho began his approach for Perisic back in March during international duty when he visited the Croatia camp
