Alessandro Murgia scored the dramatic last-gasp winner for hometown club Lazio to beat Juventus in the Super Cup. “We deserved it.”

The Aquile had been 2-0 up through a Ciro Immobile brace, but Paulo Dybala struck twice with a free kick and penalty to make it 2-2 at the 91st minute.

Just as an exhausted Biancocelesti side was being dragged into extra time, Jordan Lukaku pulled back for the 21-year-old substitute to tap in.

“We deserved it, we are a great side with a great Coach and wonderful staff. We sweat buckets for this, we deserved it for all the fans in this stadium,” Murgia told Rai Sport.

“It was tough, as Juve got the equaliser practically at the end, but we don’t give up. We fight to the end, as the Coach always tells us.

“We know that whoever steps on to the field will give their all, whether young or experienced. We are a squad and we fight together.”
