Napoli have “categorically” denied Aurelio De Laurentiis suggesting that the club would win Serie A and try to sign Federico Chiesa.
De Laurentiis was also quoted as saying that Napoli would “take bets” on them ending Juventus’ grip on the Scudetto, but the Partenopei have since poured scorn on the remarks attributed to their President.

“Napoli categorically deny that President Aurelio De Laurentiis spoke to ANSA,” the club tweeted.
“De Laurentiis would have said that ‘Napoli will certainly win the Scudetto’, even ‘taking bets’.
“De Laurentiis would have even discussed buying Chiesa and setting the price!
“We will make no further comment, other than saying that there have been no statements made by De Laurentiis to ANSA or other publications.”
