Stefan de Vrij will reportedly renew with Lazio, but with a €25m release clause in his contract.
The Dutch defender’s current deal expires next June, and it had been rumoured that he could sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus in January.
However, this morning’s Corriere dello Sport says De Vrij doesn’t want to leave the club which launched his career in Italy on a fee, and negotiations are underway for a new contract.
The player is willing to accept a renewal with a €25m release clause, though the Biancocelesti will try to push that up to €30m.
That shouldn’t prove a big stumbling block though, and a deal could be closed by the end of the transfer window.
