Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri was so impressed with Napoli that he called them “one of the top five teams in Europe.”
The Partenopei dominated their Champions League play-off, winning 4-0 on aggregate, and could comfortably have had more goals.
“Napoli are a great side who play really fluid football,” Seri told reporters in the mixed zone after a 2-0 home loss.
“In my view, they are one of the top five teams in Europe. We’re disappointed, because the atmosphere in the stadium was incredible.”
Seri has been heavily linked with a transfer to Barcelona this summer.
“We’ll see about my future, but I don’t believe this was my last game for Nice. If it happens with Barcelona, that’s good, otherwise I am happy in Nice.”
