Geoffrey Kondogbia has only just joined Valencia on loan from Inter, but assures “I want to stay here for a long time.”

The midfielder never quite made his mark at San Siro after the €36m plus bonuses move from Monaco in 2015.

He has been loaned to Valencia with an option to buy for €25m plus 30 per cent of any future sale.

“I already received some calls from Valencia in December, but nothing came of it,” Kondogbia told Spanish paper AS.

“I already received some calls from Valencia in December, but nothing came of it,” Kondogbia told Spanish paper AS.

“So when in July their interest was reactivated, three things brought me here: the project, the great club and my rapport with the Coach.

“I want to stay here for a long time, but for now we have to focus on this season and then we’ll see.”

It is his second stint in La Liga after one season at Sevilla in 2012-13.

“I am more mature now and think I have improved tactically. I’ve got a lot more experience, too.”
