Inter defender Miranda will return from Brazil duty after suffering head trauma against Ecuador on Friday.

Miranda took a blow to the head after a clash with Alisson in the first half of Brazil’s 2-0 win against Ecuador.

Although he managed to play on, the 32-year-old was replaced by Thiago Silva for the restart and taken to hospital for tests.

“Miranda never lost consciousness, but his memory was blank,” Selecao doctor Rodrigo Lasmar told reporters.

“He didn’t remember the score or even some of the stages during the match.

“In cases like these, no further risks must be taken because a second trauma would be dangerous.”

Miranda’s tests all came back positive, but he has since been ruled out of Brazil’s game against against Colombia and will return to Milan, where he will be monitored by Inter’s medical staff.
